Established In 2014

Maurice E. Evans joined the SouthGroup team in January 2014 after more than 20 years as a business owner and General Contractor. After three years of honing his risk management skills, in January 2017, Maurice had the privilege of opening the Jackson office, located at Dunbarton Drive. His emphasis has been heavy in the construction industry with particular interest in risk management and education.

Mr. Evans has been an avid supporter of small businesses throughout the State of Mississippi and has facilitated risk management, insurance, and bonding classes for the Mississippi Development Authority and US Department of Transportation Central Region. In addition to the construction industry, Mr. Evans has a diverse business background and works with municipalities, school boards, and small business owners to bring awareness to the exposures they have in their particular businesses.
